First Security Bank serves customers in its 70 locations throughout the state, including 15 in Pulaski and Saline Counties. The bank has become one of the state’s largest community banks. First Security entered the Little Rock market in 2004 and quickly grew to six locations in Little Rock, one in Maumelle, two in North Little Rock, three in Bryant and three in Benton. John Rutledge serves as president and chief executive officer of First Security’s Little Rock Market, which is headquartered in the River Market District in downtown Little Rock.

First Security Bank was chartered in 1932 in Searcy under the name of Security Bank. In 1966, the name was officially changed to First Security Bank. In 1977, Reynie Rutledge purchased First Security Bank, and in 1981, he created a bank-holding company that is now known as First Security Bancorp. Reynie Rutledge serves as chairman and CEO of the privately held holding company.

In 2004, First Security opened its first branch in Little Rock on Cantrell Road. Soon after, construction was completed on the First Security Center in the Little Rock River Market District. The building houses a First Security branch; a six-story Marriott Courtyard Hotel; the headquarters of Crews & Associates, the investment-banking firm and a affiliate of First Security Bancorp; and several floors of office space and luxury condominiums.
