ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT - Who We Are

Sherwood is a growing, prosperous community of 29,523 citizens conveniently located next to Highway 67/167 and Hwy 107 in Central Arkansas less than 10 minutes from downtown Little Rock, the Little Rock Air Force Base, Camp Robinson, Little Rock Regional Airport and the North Little Rock Municipal Airport. With recent annexation we are located right outside the back gate of the Little Rock Air Force Base. It’s strategic location offers businesses easy transportation access without the heavy traffic of a larger city. Rated recently by the Wall Street Journal as one of the ten best cities in the United States in which to live, Sherwood offers a hometown atmosphere while conveniently located to the entertainment and amenities of a larger metropolitan area. The city lies on the boundaries of the Arkansas River Valley and the Mississippi Alluvial Plain, the diverse environment ranges from flat marshland to rolling wooden hills.

Lifestyle

Residents of Sherwood enjoy a high standard of living with the third highest educational levels and second highest family income per capita in the State. Sherwood is a safe, family-oriented community with 17 City parks, two new parks currently under development, 100 acres sports complex, two recreational facilities, an active senior citizens’ center, and year-round programs for youth of all ages. The City of Sherwood has the lowest level of crime of any community in the Central Arkansas Region. Sherwood is proud of its many community volunteers. Three consecutive times it was voted Volunteer Community of the Year by the State Department of Volunteerism.
