Sherwood Chamber of Commerce Announces Date of 2012 Golf Tournament

The Sherwood Chamber of Commerce has announced the date for the Annual Golf Tournament. The event will take place Saturday, April 28, at The Greens at North Hills, 7404 Highway 107 in Sherwood.

Chamber Adds New Economic Development Director

Kelly Coughlin began working for the Sherwood Chamber on January 30 as the Economic Development Director. She is excited about all the opportunities that lie ahead for her in bringing new business to the City and for being a resource to the existing businesses here.

Chamber Annual Banquet to be Held on February 9, 2012

The Sherwood Chamber of Commerce Annual Installation and Awards Banquet will be held on Thursday, February 9 at Sherwood Forest. There will be a Social Hour from 6:00-7:00 P.M., with hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and music by Xceptional Duo. Keynote speaker for the program is Vincent Insalaco. Dinner will be catered by Custom Food Group. The Chamber's 2012 officers and board of directors will be installed, and community and Chamber awards will be presented. Tickets are on sale now for $45 each, or $50 after February 3. A limited number of tables for 8 are available for $320.

Sherwood Chamber of Commerce Announces Date and Theme of 2011 Christmas Parade

The Sherwood Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Christmas parade on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. The theme of this year’s parade will be “Christmas Around the World.” The parade will begin at the intersection of Kiehl Avenue and Lantrip Road and will continue west down Kiehl Avenue and will end at the intersection of Kiehl and Oakbrooke Drive.

Manage Your Time

As a business coach, one of the challenges that I hear most often is “I need to better manage my time.” Well, the thing is that time management is really not a “Time Management issue”. It’s really a goals clarication issue. Once you’re clear about what your goals are, and then what your priorities are, managing your time is much easier. Also, the way of managing your time eectively is really your ability to manage yourself.

Here are some basic rules to better manage your time: First, set hour time blocks to take care of your daily operations and tasks at hand. During this time, don't allow any outside distractions to come in the way. Schedule it on your calendar, treat this time like an appointment, and keep it.

Don’t let technology control you. With all the text messaging, emails and the internet, it almost makes it dicult to do your job! Get into the practice of checking your email only 2-3 times a day, and you will notice you get a lot more work done!
